Big Bang on The Move at Northants

BB @ Northants

University of Northampton and Aspire Northamptonshire together with Learn By Design presented ‘Big Bang on the Move’….. a fantastic new Big Bang Near Me event that opened up the world of STEM in the Logistics Industry as well as the wider STEM landscape around Northamptonshire.

This event, new to the Northampton region, was hosted at the attractive Franklin’s Garden Corporate venue in Northampton Saints RFC grounds on the 1st March 2017.

As well as a wide variety of STEM exhibitors from the Northamptonshire area, the event was bursting at the seams with workshops, shows and engaging activities for visitors to explore a fully interactive STEM experience.

All 37 secondary schools and colleges in Northamptonshire along with Primary schools were invited to the event with over 1500 visitors in attendance. Home Educators and families were also welcomed providing a great learning experience for ages 9-19.

Exhibitors of the day included The Fine Art department at The University of Northampton with hands on demonstrations into the world of nature through a microscope whilst Google Expeditions were taking students on field trips to virtually anywhere with their 360 degree head sets.

Atomic Science provided the headline show with an awesome showcase of science demonstrations which produced sounds of wonder from a spellbound audience.

Students were jumping for joy throughout our competitive “Robotic Challenge Workshops” which are always a resounding success for both teachers and students.

The whole event was a true celebration of STEAM within the region and exhibited the Big Bang @ school events at their very best.
