The Big Bang Regional Events

The Big Bang Fair Regional Events

EngineeringUK launched The Big Bang in 2009 in partnership with the UK’s major science and engineering bodies. Since then The Big Bang has become the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for young people in the UK demonstrating the exciting and rewarding opportunities available.

Our Approach

Learn by Design has been contracted to manage and deliver The Big Bang Regional Fairs and Big Bang @ School events in the East and West Midlands – demonstrating the scale and diversity of engineering and science in the UK. The events enable young people to discover close to home the science and engineering careers their science and maths subjects can lead to. The events encourage more people to take part in science, technology, engineering and maths initiatives with support from their parents and teachers.

The Result

Since 2011 Learn by Design has been delivering The Big Bang in the Midlands, attracting national players such as Rolls Royce, Severn Trent Water, Jaguar Land Rover, IBM, The National Space Centre, The Royal Society of Chemistry, The Institute of Civil Engineers and Caterpillar UK to name a few.  Almost 8,000 visitors attend the regional fairs and over 150 student projects are showcased year on year – including Young Engineer for Britain projects.
