Give yourself the edge Futures_Aspire_2

Learn by Design were thrilled to once again support Aspire Nottingham and Futures Advice via a successful careers fair, that saw over 800 students from around the Nottingham region come together.

Students from Bulwell Academy, The Nottingham Girls Academy, The Trinity School and Top Valley School all attended the event at Harvey Hadden Sports Village supported by Nottingham County Council. Raising aspirations around science, technology, engineering and maths careers was the aim of the day whilst bringing local companies together in order to promote possible unknown careers.

Workshops promoted as #GiveYourselftheEdge, throughout the day, gave a wealth of employability skills as economic sectors promoted a huge amount of learning from creative industries from Nottingham Libraries, Kohl Kreatives, transport and logistics from AECOM, Health and Social Care from Nottingham College, City Care and Construction opportunities from Lindum Group and Morgan Sindall.

The day was a huge success with Learn by Design encouraging students to participate in a STEM Design hands-on activity.

The collaboration between Learn by Design and Futures grows year on year and we were thrilled to show our support again this year with Bob Boyd our School Education Manager leading the Learn by Design team.

Special thanks go to Sean Panting, Caroline Diss and Ashreen Seethal at Futures advice for their ongoing working relationship with Learn by Design.

“Bob Boyd and Laura Vesty from Learn by Design, did an excellent job at our ‘Give Yourself The Edge’ event.
We really value their support and hope they enjoyed the day as well.”
