Waste Less Save More- Final Challenge success
Waste Less Save More- Final Challenge success.
50% of the total amount of food thrown away in the UK comes from our home!
Taking this statistic on board, 5 schools were supported by a food waste reduction ambassador from Learn by Design who offered a 2 hour support session within each school as they developed project ideas to reduce waste.
During the last week of March each school were asked to judge the team projects alongside representatives from local businesses and Learn by Design to select a schools waste management champion for 2017.
The Waste Less Save More- Final Challenge took place on 30th March 2017 at The William Allitt School.
Year 8 teams were challenged to come up with their own ideas for ways to help encourage others to ‘waste less and save more’ for the chance to win a £500 grant to bring their ideas to life. The grant was funded by Unltd.
However, we are delighted that the judges were so impressed with the groups, that two William Allitt groups were awarded a £500 bursary- each!
Well done to the teams involved!
