The event days will give your business the opportunity to interact with two distinct sets of students:
College and University Students will be invited along to a drop-in careers fair between 10am and 12pm at each event, where you will have the opportunity to talk to students aged 18+ about what you do and the future career opportunities that could be available to them. This is a unique opportunity to interact both with students who already have an interest in working in the Rail industry and those that want to know more about it.
Secondary School students aged 13+ will be mentored for the day by industry experts and take part in two industry related visits before being invited to solve the iRail 2018 Challenge and present their solutions to a ‘Dragon’s Den style panel of judges.
The event is a brilliant experience for the students but we can only do it with your help. We need you to get involved, so please come along to exhibit, network and interact with others in the rail industry whilst meeting young people aged from 13 years old to undergraduates.
Companies, organisations and individuals who have supported iRail include Network Rail, Bombardier Transportation, HS2, National College for High Speed Rail (NCHSR), Resonate, DBEIS Department for Business Innovation and Skills, National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR), Vossloh Kiepe, SNC Lavalin, Atkins, Porterbrook, Transport iNet, Rail Forum East Midlands, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, National Skills Academy for Railway (NSAR), Derbyshire Railway Engineering Society (DRES), Rail Technology Magazine, Derby City Council and Pete Waterman, rail enthusiast and music mogul.
