NCS Programme Manager

We are looking for a committed, capable, curious, and confident Programme Manager to join our expanding team.
The key objectives in the role are:
To maintain an exemplary client relationship while balancing the wider needs of the NCS contract.
To coordinate the logistics required to plan an effective NCS programme.
To work alongside Learn by Design’s Learning and Development Team and partners in the community to strengthen the NCS programme with rich and engaging curriculum content.
To work with a passionate team across departments to create an exciting and impactful experience for all participants and to seek continual improvement from best practice sharing across regions.
To support in the recruitment of seasonal staff and to support in the management of said staff throughout the delivery of the NCS programme.
To support NCS graduates to continue social action in their local community.
To be familiar with the use of a Customer Relationship Management system.
To support the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we are target focussed and achieving our key performance indicators.
What is National Citizen Service?
NCS is the government's flagship youth programme for 15-17-year olds.
NCS is an experience designed to challenge participants and make them more socially engaged.
Participants experience residential activities away from home and team‑based skill building sessions, before developing their own Social Action Project designed to benefit their local communities. To date, more than 500,000 young people have taken part in NCS.
To be successful in the role you will need exceptional communication ability, verbal and written. You will be required source venues that will help inspire our young people through a high-quality experience. A proven leadership ability and experience with a proven track record of project management will be essential. You will need to work closely with various management colleagues to support elements such as, but not limited to, the creation and design of the young people’s curriculum experience and the selection of seasonal staff. Client relationship management throughout will form a significant part of the role.
You will also have to be confident in your ability to coordinate various inputs, perform data analysis, and deliver to deadlines. Ability to innovate and drive change in a work setting would be advantageous.
You will need to have a natural flair for thinking creatively and be organised and able to work effectively under pressure. You must have initiative to react in a demanding environment.
A strong work ethic is essential.
Experience of working on the NCS programme is preferred although not essential. Pertinent university degrees and line management experience are also preferred.

After application, an initial screening will be followed by a face-to-face assessment that will include an interview, a brief presentation, and a series of written tasks. Applications will be taken until 3 December 2019, with assessments to take place on 9 or 10 December 2020.
Employment is subject to the provision of satisfactory references and the satisfactory completion of an enhanced DBS Check. All candidates must have the right to work in the UK, a full UK driving licence and their own vehicle.
Job Type: fixed term contract
Salary: £32,400 per annum (this figure includes £200 a month car allowance)
Location and Hours of work:
Learn by Design are a partner responsible for delivering the NCS programme in multiple areas across the country. The role will be predominantly based close to the delivery region, with occasional requirements to attend our Head Office in Tamworth and Programmes meetings in various locations within the country. Site visits are to be conducted in line with the needs of the contract. Expenses, overnight accommodation, and subsistence are covered where needed. Due to the varying nature of the workload, the candidate will occasionally be required to work flexible hours.
Holiday: 2 days' holiday per full calendar month worked over the period of employment plus public holidays
