Winners of the ZEISS school programme will be announced on 7th July.
Hundreds of school pupils across Birmingham are set to attend the finale of the “Challenge Your Imagination” programme on the 7th of July 2022. The event is being held at the landmark public building, multi-award-winning venue, and charitable trust in the East side of Birmingham City Centre Millennium Point.
The ZEISS Primary School competition has brought hundreds of Primary schools across Birmingham together to take part in the competition that has seen pupils challenged to design a product that aids a visual impairment problem. Pupils will be displaying their optics and robotics poster design ideas, as well as pitching their product to a panel of judges at the finale event. Winners will be announced on the day.
Young people with can take part in a STEM workshop as part of the day and we can’t wait to meet all the schools once again after a busy year of ZEISS workshops and interactive sessions. The design ideas we have seen so far on social media have been utterly incredible and we know the final winner will be an incredibly hard decision for the judges on the day.

Programme is in it's second year of delivery.
The ZEISS program has successfully engaged schools in Birmingham and the West Midlands for the second year running, delivering interactive STEM sessions designed for upper Key Stage 2 students, aged 9-11 years. The programme has been incorporating key elements of ZEISS’ work, such as robotics and innovation. The workshops have been designed and delivered by Learn by Design and have thrilled hundreds of young people, whilst raising their awareness in STEM careers.
