Nomination success for Bristol Young Heroes Awards 2019

Social Action projects nominated for The Environmental Hero Award

We have the pleasure of announcing that we have three young people who have been nominated in the Bristol Young Hero Awards 2019!

These young people worked on projects facilitated by Learn by Design in Bristol, in collaboration with Bristol City Council last summer. Katie Page has been nominated for our work with City to Sea, campaigning against single-use plastics. Lucie Jones and Samuel Hill share a nomination for their work on the ‘Terry the Turtle’ project, which captured the imagination of the Deputy Mayor of Bristol, Cllr. Asher Craig.

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 5th April 2019 at We the Curious, Bristol, BS1 5DB. In addition to attending the awards ceremony, the nominees were invited to a Nominee Reception on Monday 28th January, where they were given a guide of what to expect on the night of the awards and a £100 voucher to Cabot Circus to buy something special for the evening! They will attend a filming of an ‘Oscar-style video’ that will be shown on the night and Learn by Design have attended a filming session explaining why the young people were nominated.

We are thrilled to be attending the Awards Ceremony for the second year running. The winners from each of the categories will be announced on the night.
