About the Workshop

Fit for Life is an active workshop that uses different pieces of sports testing equipment to help young people understand more about good health and fitness and how our bodies work.

After an introduction to why it’s important to stay healthy, learners receive a full safety briefing for the equipment, including use of balance boards, lung capacity testers, and Batak machine, and are provided with a worksheet to support them in analysing their own performance and the scientific principles underpinning this.

We can also use our links with STEM ambassadors to reach out to local ambassadors to support the day and help raise aspirations by providing an insight into the world of work.

Logistics and Planning

Logistics and Planning:

  • Fit for Life requires a large classroom or hall space with a projector.

  • We ask that a teacher is always present throughout the activities, to support learner engagement and manage behaviour

Workshops can be booked on their own and delivered on rotation throughout the day or delivered as part of a series of workshops,

where classes rotate between multiple activities.
