Hundreds turned out for Explore Apprenticeships events

Jobseekers across Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Worcester were given the chance to kick-start their careers when the “Explore Apprenticeships” events were rolled out into town venues promoting apprenticeship opportunities in local regions.

More than 50 companies and apprenticeship providers from across the Midlands exhibited at the Explore Apprenticeships events with 100’s of vacancies for people to apply.

The event was run on behalf of the National Careers Service and service provider Prospects West Midlands, and was aimed at 18-year-olds and over who are looking to get into work.

Visitors gained access to workshops that helped with CV writing and interview skills, opportunity to apply for live apprenticeship vacancies and talk to training providers about a range of courses.

There was also chance to have a go at interactive activities, and listen to a range of talks from people who have benefited from doing an apprenticeship.

Louise Curd is the Director of Programmes at Learn by Design and is running the Explore Apprenticeships events.

“If you are seeking work, returning to the job market, hoping to train or need help making career decisions, these events had the right opportunities for you. It was a great opportunity for us to carry on the celebrations from National Apprenticeship Week and talk to people about the positive impact apprenticeships have on people, businesses and the wider economy." - Louise Curd, Director of Programmes

Entry was free and proved a huge success in both Coventry and Birmingham, with hundreds of turn ups exploring new career paths.
