Become a Career Ambassador
We work on behalf of many organisations to support and manage Career Related Learning programmes. Career Ambassadors are a vital element towards enhancing student aspirations by direct employer and student engagement. Hearing first hand experiences, sharing of advice and listening to a broad range of career stories help break down stereotypes and raise career aspirations in young people of all ages.
We are always looking for people to offer their time and join us in inspiring the next generation of confident young learners.
There are a few ways to start your volunteering journey:
Join the STEM learning platform - if your specialism is in S.T.E.M. you'll be able to see lots of opportunities to share your experiences to learners.
For more information, please email Darren Kimberley via the link below, where he will provide you with the current opportunities available at Learn by Design.
We asked some of our previous volunteers to take part in a survey to give us feedback of their experience when they volunteered with us...
Survey was taken January 2021 up until August 2021
STEM Ambassadors volunteer their time and support to promote STEM subjects to young learners in a vast range of original, creative, practical and engaging ways. There are thousands of brilliant and inspiring volunteers helping to support the STEM curriculum and raise awareness of STEM careers, by revealing how essential STEM is throughout the world.
STEM Ambassadors cross all ages and backgrounds, represent over a vast spectrum of different employers across the UK. They help open the doors to a world of opportunities and possibilities which come from pursuing STEM subjects and careers. They not only inspire young people; they also support teachers in the classroom by explaining current applications of STEM in industry or research.
Should you wish to do so, you can register as a STEM Ambassador using the link below.
Registration is completely FREE.

This is a curriculum-linked programme, for students aged 11-14, and aims to see teams work together to solve real-world engineering, technology and computing challenges.
Using robotics, design and discovery, students learn how to build, programme and control LEGO robots to complete a series of short aviation missions, using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 sets.
Regional events take place all around the UK between 26th April and 26th May 2022. The final will take place at the NEC, Birmingham in June 2022.
